Product Description

These 3/8” thick AR500 steel targets are made to last.  They have been CNC laser cut to yield a minimal heat affected zone.  Do not confuse these with cheaper plasma cut targets.   Targets include 1/2” mounting holes. 

Targets may be used for handguns and rifles up to 308Win.  Handguns should be used no closer than 10 yards and rifles 100 yards.  Targets do not ship with mounting hardware. 

Targets are shipped unpainted. 

 

The 3/8” AR500 steel targets work great for the following calibers 223, 5.56, 5.45x39, 7.62x39 and 308. They will also handle similar short action cartridges.  For velocities over 3200fps MV use at 200 yards minimum.

    I haven't been able to put even a little dent, divot, or blemish in this target. Using .223 and .308 FMJ. I even (unintentionally) struck a glancing blow on/near the cut edge of the disk and no damage! I expected at least chipping from an impact at the edge. I did manage to obliterate my homemade mild steel target stand this afternoon.

    So far I have been using the targets for everything up to 44 mag and they do not have a mark on them. I have started using a single for shooting rifle caliber up to 308 at this target and works great. I am planning some 7.62x54 in the near future.Just need more paint! :)

    This one really posses a challenge compared to the larger plates that I shoot with my pistols.

    Held up well at 50yd to 50gr frangible bullets at 3000+ fps. No dipling whatsever when the plate was hit. The only think I noticed was some very small nicks if I struck it at the actual edge of the plate. I will be ordering additional from shootsteel.com

    Great product, better than shooting paper targets, its reactive, makes a loud bang. Large calibers do not make holes, I've shot up to 30.06 FMJ and it does not make any holes
